A special symposium featuring five design-science partnerships from the Trash-2-Cash project.

A recurring challenge in CCD’s approach is to find ways of working with other disciplines. Interdisciplinary ways of working are absolutely crucial to Circular Design, so as part of the Trash-2-Cash project, researchers organised a special symposium featuring five design-science partnerships who were tasked with sharing the methods they have found useful for working together. Topics such as finding a safe space, taking risks, developing a shared vocabulary and language, working in close proximity as well as finding effective ways of communicating at distance were highlighted during the discussion. The importance of increasing opportunities for students to experience interdisciplinary practice was also seen as an important consideration for design and science education.
