HEREWEAR: empowering local, circular, bio-based textiles

24/03/22, 1–6pm

This event was hosted by the Centre for Circular Design as part of UAL's Research Season 2022.

An online presentation of the ongoing HEREWEAR project. The event addressed the challenges and opportunities for new feedstocks, production processes, design applications and recovery systems to support a transition to a local, circular and bio-based textile economy. The HEREWEAR project is an EU Horizon 2020 funded research project involving 15 partners across 13 different countries. The 4-year project started in October 2020 and has been investigating the development and design applications of novel bio-based fibres from agricultural bi-products. Watch this film to hear more about how experts in circular design, biobased plastics, lifecycle assessment, or community building are joining efforts to accelerate this transition in the field of fashion textiles.
