There is a crisis of waste in the fashion industry, but what can we, as individuals, do about it?
Sewing Box for the Future is an exhibition curated by Dr Jen Ballie of the University of Dundee and V&A Dundee, exploring her research into fashion and the circular economy. It focuses on three areas: care, repair and customisation, and illustrates that by making small changes, we can make a big difference – we have the power to effect change. Items on show include Filippa K's 'Eternal Trenchcoat' which was developed as part of the MISTRA Future Fashion, Phase 2, alongside Celia Pym, IDEO London and Chloe Patience.
